Antico Broilo, Friuli Venezia Giulia

The Estate

Small, family estate managed by Vanni and Massimo Durì. This father and son team is producing some of the most sought after wines of Colli Orientali appellation. Their winemaking style is inspired by a very natural attitude, combining ripe fruit with slow fermentation and careful use of oak. The terroir of Prepotto is historically linked to the original Schioppettino, a medium body spicy red with a velvety textured profile and unpredictable complexity. The Refosco is the other indigenous grape showing their skills as modern growers and talented winemakers.

Philosophy

Strongly linked to Prepotto terroir, a red village, the production is driven by the aim of expressing the full potential of indigenous grapes such as Refosco and Schioppettino. New plantations are in place and the volumes are slowly growing.

The People

Vanni Durì is the fourth generation of family winemakers. He was selling in bulk his wines until 1999, then with the arrival of his son Massimo to help the management, he decided to bottle his entire crop.
